Our data, explained

Useful comparisons start with honest limitations.

RentMap is an independent rental research tool. We help you compare figures and ask better questions before choosing a home. We do not act as a landlord, broker or rental agency.

Rent snapshot retrieved 28 September 2026; source table last updated September 2026. Per-city observation dates and sample counts were not provided.

Three different kinds of information

1. The stored city snapshot

The country and city pages read 192 active records across 71 countries, representing 192 distinct city-country pairs. We matched each active country/city and its bedroom values to the expanded Global Property Guide rent table. Values retain the source's displayed EUR or USD currency. Explicit “n.a.” cells remain unavailable. Wellington and Chon Buri are retired because they do not appear in the captured table.

The source identifies the table update month but does not provide per-city observation dates or sample sizes in this capture. Reuse permission/terms have not been established; attribution is not a license. These figures are snapshots, not current rental offers or guarantees of today's market.

The combined value is our arithmetic mean of the available bedroom-size values, not a median of homes or local advertisements. The source describes its bedroom prices as median monthly asking rents; our combined figure is a separate calculation.

2. Individual listings on the map

The map uses a separate listing feed with property details and original source links where supplied. These listings are not the input to the country and city snapshot figures. A map marker is a lead to investigate, not confirmation that a home is available. Locations may be approximate, and coverage differs between markets.

3. Official Danish rent indices

Statistics Denmark publishes HUS1 rent indices by region and housing type. The published table now uses a different base period than the one in our stored extract; we have removed the stale values and link directly to the current official HUS1 table. Indices measure change relative to a base period, not rent amounts, and regional indices are not city-specific asking-rent estimates.

What our calculations mean

The captured source marks some bedroom values “n.a.”; those cells are kept unavailable and omitted from the combined mean. The dataset contains 4 records where a larger bedroom category is cheaper than the preceding one. Different samples can produce that pattern, but the capture does not expose underlying samples needed to determine why.

How to use the information responsibly

Begin with the bedroom category that matches your search. Check several original advertisements in the same neighbourhood, for the same rental period, furnishing and included costs. A snapshot can suggest what to investigate, but an actual budget needs a current price and a confirmed list of charges.

Do not infer a city's safety, legal requirements, internet reliability or job market from its rent. Use relevant official sources for those questions. If a market is missing from our map or dataset, we do not know its rent from this data.

Editorial responsibility and corrections

RentMap publishes the explanations, calculation tools and comparisons on this site. Our editorial standard is to distinguish stored reference figures, live listing records and hypothetical examples; avoid unsupported freshness claims; and expose the assumptions behind calculations.

Send corrections to kontakt@lejel.dk with the RentMap page, the value or statement in question, a public source URL and its date. Do not send identity documents or private tenancy records. We can review a reported discrepancy against its source before changing a stored value.
